The Senior Field Network Engineer is an important technical position within the 5Q Partners organization. This position is responsible for assessing and implementing network solutions for 5Q clients and handling simultaneous complex projects. The Senior Field Network Engineer also supports the Manager, Engineering Services and 5Q Connect by serving as a technical resource and advisor for other engineering team members. This role also supports the training of other engineers in project assessments/remediations. The Senior Field Network Engineer must have deep expertise across modern network platforms including Ubiquiti, Meraki, Aruba, and FS, with the ability to design and deploy across diverse client environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Leads onsite network deployments, remediation, and cutovers with a focus on network infrastructure, firewalls, switching, wireless, and SD-WAN across cloud-managed platforms.
• Active role planning and executing WAN and LAN network changes.
• Perform discovery of LAN and WiFi networks, providing remediation plans.
• Implement various Microsoft technologies as needed like Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD, MFA, SQL, and other Microsoft core business applications.
• Ensures adherence to 5Q standards, including documentation, diagrams, and repeatable configurations to support scalable delivery.
• Owns technical delivery in alignment with Project Managers, ensuring projects are executed on time, within scope, and meet 5Q quality standards.
• Accurately and regularly communicate project status to all required stake holders.
• Communicate with customers as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed upon outages.
• Perform various tests on process with help of test cases and prepare documents for same and coordinate with manager to resolve all issues within required timeframe and inform management of any delays.
• Serve as a technical advisor to other field engineers as a component of their training or in dealing with escalated client issues.
• Support the Manager, Engineering Services and 5Q Connect on technical guidance, training and project support.

• Train client technical staff on all hardware and software issues and identify all issues in processes and provide solutions for same.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Strong and broad site-to-site networking experience including Layer 2, Layer 3 and SDN
• Strong knowledge of networking protocols and components including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP etc.
• Experience with multiple network manufacturer platforms: Cisco, Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti, FS, Aruba, FortiNet, etc.
• Scripting experience – PowerShell, Batch, Bash, Python
• Strong troubleshooting skills regarding systems, network, storage and cloud solutions. The ideal engineer can quickly identify and resolve problems with minimal supervision.
• Strong knowledge and experience with Office 365 and Azure platforms.
• Strong knowledge of small scale and enterprise Microsoft Active Directory and Azure AD deployments
• Implement both hardware and configurations at the network level: WAN/LAN connectivity, switches, routers, firewalls, and security.
• Experience performing WiFi analysis.
• Experience with various Remote Access solutions.
• Experience with software deployment and/or RMM solutions.
• Willingness and capability of quickly learning new technologies required for accomplishing project goals.
• Proven ability to successfully analyze and perform problem resolution with an emphasis on client satisfaction.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills, especially when dealing with clients.
• Creating detailed network diagrams and remediation plans.
• Must be capable of handling multiple simultaneous tasks under pressure while maintaining strong customer service and a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work as a strong team member as well as independently.
• A minimum of 7–10+ years of progressive network engineering experience with demonstrated success leading complex, multi-site deployments.
• Able to travel within the US
