IT Equipment and Inventory Specialist, Atlanta-Based

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The IT Equipment and Inventory Specialist is responsible for organization, preparation and deployment of IT equipment from 5Q stock, assets and client-owned stock. This includes IT hardware, software, and general materials. This role undertakes equipment allocation, staging for deployment, imaging and/or configuring hardware and software, troubleshooting hardware issues, and packaging of equipment for outbound shipping. The specialist is involved in the stock management process to ensure accurate inventory details within the inventory management system. The specialist manages and implements fulfillment of procurement requests through both cases and project tasks. The specialist coordinates inventory management and configuration efforts with various teams inside 5Q and interfaces with selected vendors or clients as necessary.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Transfer and allocate assets and stock within inventory system and warehouse.

2. Assist with stock receipt as needed.

3. As assigned, install 5Q and client specific imaging and updates on hardware equipment based on the technical requirements for the device, client, or end user.

4. Install 5Q required configurations and applications on hardware equipment based on the technical requirements determined by 5Q engineering.

5. Test all configured hardware to ensure all components are fully functioning and operational prior to deployment.

6. Troubleshoot hardware issues and work with inventory or procurement team to return and/or dispose of equipment that cannot be deployed.

7. Prepare outbound shipments including packaging and creation of outbound shipping documentation.

8. Manage, monitor and document inventory activities in assigned 5Q Assist cases and project tasks as applicable.

9. Work with inventory management team to identify, track and trend quality control issues on defective or unacceptable goods or services.

10. Work with shipping vendors as needed regarding package delivery issues.

11. Assist inventory management on product warranty and support claims as needed.

12. Participate in physical inventory and cycle counts as assigned.

13. Investigate, identify and resolve stock and inventory discrepancies and work with inventory management team to improve process.

14. Ensure accurate entry of all stock and asset related activities within inventory management system.

15. Ensure the stock, staging and warehouse areas are neat and organized.

16. Serve as backup for inventory and shipping specialist as needed.

17. Perform other special inventory related projects and duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

1. Proficient in MS Office

2. General knowledge of PowerShell and scripting

3. General knowledge of IT hardware troubleshooting.

4. Exceptional attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.

5. 1-2 years in help desk support or other PC/network support experience preferred.

6. Solid understanding of computer configurations and software set up.

7. Solid understanding of Windows operating systems.

8. Knowledge of basic inventory practices.

9. Experience with a ticketing system (such as ServiceNow, Autotask, or ConnectWise).

10. Ability to multi-task and work independently.

11. Sound interpersonal and communication skills.

12. Sound analytical, planning, prioritization and execution skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Lifting and/or carrying of 15-30 lbs. or more

• Ability to use a keyboard to enter and retrieve data.

• Must have good eyesight to view computer monitor, phone, and read asset tags.

• Ability to remain standing for up to 4 hours at a time during physical inventory cycles.

• On-site role, 40 hours in office required

• Occasional ability to drive to shipping distribution centers for package delivery.
