Linux and Windows System Engineer
A Linux and Windows System Engineer is responsible for the administration and support of Linux and Windows operating systems, ensuring the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability. This role also includes managing Office 365 administration and Microsoft SharePoint environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Installing and configuring operating systems and application software.

Implementing best practices for system security and data backups (VEEAM preferred)

Anticipating potential issues or bottlenecks and identifying possible solutions for projects and communicating them to project managers or other management.

Troubleshooting and resolving all technical issues when they arise that are related to professional services or Security operations.

Managing and monitoring Linux and Windows environments to ensure optimal performance.

Troubleshooting Linux systems.

Automating system administration tasks using scripting languages (bash PowerShell, Python.)

Providing technical support and guidance to internal teams and end-users.
-
Conducting regular system audits and performance testing.
-
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of systems and services.

Office 365 Administration: Managing user accounts, security groups, licenses, and mailbox configurations.

Microsoft SharePoint: Configuring and maintaining SharePoint sites, ensuring optimal performance and security.
Required Knowledge and Skills:

Linux Administration: Proficiency in managing Linux operating systems.

Windows Administration: Expertise in managing Windows operating systems.

Office 365 Administration: Experience in managing Office 365 environments.

Microsoft SharePoint: Skills in configuring and maintaining SharePoint sites.

Scripting Languages: Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, PowerShell, or Python.

System Security: Knowledge of best practices for system security and data protection.

Network Configuration: Skills in network setup and configuration.

Data Center Virtualization Technologies: Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or similar technologies. Dell Preferred.

Automation Tools: Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

Storage Area Networks (Dell preferred).

Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues.

Backup and Recovery: Knowledge of data backup and recovery solutions like VEEAM (preferred).

Monitoring Tools: Experience with monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix, or CWA (preferred)

Cloud Platforms: Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Active Directory: Proficiency in managing Active Directory and Group Policy.

Containerization: Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

Database Management: Skills in managing databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server.

Firewall Management: Knowledge of firewall setup and maintenance.

Disaster Recovery Planning: Experience in creating and implementing disaster recovery plans.

Collaboration Tools: Familiarity with collaboration tools like Microsoft Teams or Slack.

Documentation: Ability to create and maintain detailed system documentation.
