Accounting AR Specialist

Non-Exempt/Hourly

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Accounts Receivable Specialist will play a key role in invoicing clients, cash posting, collection efforts and overall accounting administration.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Reconcile and review billing data with contract terms and company policies.

  • Prepare invoices for timely distribution to clients.

  • Upload invoices to customer portals or distribute via email.

  • Issue Credit memos and adjustments as necessary.

  • Proactively resolve billing and payment issues or discrepancies

  • Process incoming payments and apply accurately to customer accounts.

  • Oversee accounts receivable collection efforts including internal escalation on difficult collections.

  • Prepare accounts receivable reporting.

  • Collaborate with accounting and lines of business on accounting inquiries and correspondence.

  • Assist Controller with accounting initiatives.

  • Serve as back-up resource for A/P Specialist.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years of working experience in accounting for finance

  • Degree preferred (accounting or business preferred) but a minimum of High School Graduate

  • Experience with invoice production.

  • Experience with payment/cash posting.

  • Lockbox experience desirable.

  • Experience with accounts receivable collections.

  • Previous experience with QuickBooks (Enterprise or desktop preferred – Intermediate knowledge)

  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • High level or organization and detail management.
